Prior experience as Base Exchange Officer at CANEX HQ is a definite asset.Language requirement: Bilingualism (French / English) is essential for this position. Equivalency to English CCC and French BBB.Knowledge Requirements:- Of National level retail market including, establishing objectives, policies, programs and controls.- Of financial oversight and planning.- Of retail procurement and logistics.- Of the organization of major departments.- Of merchandising, marketing and promotional techniques- Of human Resources planning.- Of retail trends and customer survey techniquesExperience Requirements:- In senior management in retail trade environment- In retail sales budget management- In management of senior positions- In strategic business planning- In managing operations with a National Portfolio Summary: The President of the Canadian Forces Exchange System (CANEX), is responsible for overall management, fulfilling the Mission Statement, maintaining fiscal integrity, ensuring that CANEX managers and staff are adequately trained and motivated, as well as the direct coordination of all marketing activities. The President is also responsible for defining the retail market strategy with emphasis on the format to use to satisfy the target market's needs, nature of merchandise and services offered, pricing policy, advertising and promotion program, etc.; and the bases upon which to build a sustainable competitive advantage. Additional Info: This Category III position is open to all full time and part time NPF employees and all interested parties.This position requires some travel.
