Joining a highly energized and cohesive Executive Team in a rapidly growing company, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will share responsibility for developing and implementing the corporation’s strategic direction. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial management of the corporation, including the planning and direction of financial controls, cash management and investment, planning and budgeting, financial reporting, enterprise resource planning, audits, tax and regulatory compliance. In addition, the CFO will oversee administrative functions of Metconnex, including Facilities and Information Technology.

You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and assume a leading role in Investor and Board relations, fund raising, as well as any significant financial transactions with customers, suppliers and other parties. Additionally, in collaboration with the V.P., Strategy, you will play an integral part in identifying, planning and executing potential mergers and acquisitions.


Minimum Education/Experience:

10+ years Finance & Administration experience, including 8+ years of progressively more responsible management experience; and,
Chartered Accountant designation.
Specialized Skills:

Previous success in leading and closing financing rounds;
Demonstrated ability to prepare for and finalize mergers and/or acquisitions;
Demonstrated ability to interact positively and proactively with VCs and Board members;
Proven ability to adapt to change and remain flexible in a dynamic environment;
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage small teams to success;
Willingness & ability to contribute and execute at an operational/hands-on level as required; and,
Previous experience in a small company environment.
Assets:

Previous contribution at an executive level in a start up environment
Telecommunications and/or optics industry experience
